Licence to use the app

BibleDesk is distributed through the Apple App Store and licensed to you, not sold. Your use of the app is governed by Apple's standard Licensed Application End User Licence Agreement together with these terms. You may use BibleDesk on Apple devices you own or control, for your personal use, including personal use in the course of ministry โ€” preaching, teaching, and leading services.

Scripture texts

The Bible translations bundled with BibleDesk are public domain or openly licensed. Each translation's licence and source are shown inside the app under Settings โ†’ Translations & Licenses. When you share a verse from the app, that sharing is subject to the licence of the translation it came from; the openly licensed translations (CC BY and CC BY-SA) require attribution, which the app's share card includes for you.

BibleDesk claims no rights over Scripture. Known limitations of a bundled text โ€” such as passages missing from a public-domain source edition โ€” are disclosed in the same Translations & Licenses screen.

Chapter artwork

The optional chapter illustrations are original artwork created for BibleDesk and are ยฉ the BibleDesk developer. They are provided for viewing within the app. You may share screenshots of your reading in the ordinary way, but the illustration files themselves may not be extracted, redistributed, or used in other products.

Artwork is delivered from BibleDesk's server when you open a supported chapter with the feature turned on. The feature is optional, may change, and may be withdrawn; the app remains a complete offline Bible reader without it.

Your notes and content

Notes, bookmarks, highlights, and sermon notes you create are yours. They are stored on your device, and BibleDesk never receives them. Anything you share out of the app is your own choice and your own responsibility.

On-device intelligence

Some features โ€” verse explanations, note polishing, search widening, theme grouping โ€” use Apple's on-device Foundation Models where the device supports Apple Intelligence. Generated text is produced by a language model: it is offered as study help, not doctrinal teaching, and it can be wrong. Check anything that matters against Scripture itself.

No warranty

BibleDesk is provided free of charge, as is, without warranty of any kind. To the fullest extent the law allows, the developer disclaims all implied warranties and is not liable for any loss arising from use of the app. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

Changes

These terms may be revised as the app grows. The date at the top changes with them, and continued use after a change means you accept the revised terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except where the law of your country of residence necessarily applies.
