The Bible, on your device and nowhere else
BibleDesk is a free Bible reader for iPhone and iPad. Eighteen translations across sixteen languages are bundled with the app, so reading, searching and note-taking all work with no connection and no account.
What it does
Sixteen languages
English, Spanish, Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Chinese, Portuguese, French, Russian, Arabic, German, Malayalam, Kannada, Bengali, Korean and Swahili — every one bundled, every one public domain or openly licensed.
Search that respects the script
Full-text search built for abugidas and abjads, not just Latin: Arabic matches without diacritics, Chinese and Korean match inside words, and Indic scripts match whole words rather than consonant fragments.
Service Mode
A calm, dimmable view for church: a running sermon note, one-tap capture of the verses being preached, and instant verse jumping without losing your place.
Notes that stay yours
Highlights, bookmarks and verse-anchored notes live on your device. Export them to Markdown whenever you like, or delete everything in one step.
Nothing leaves your device
BibleDesk makes no network requests. There is no account, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking of any kind. Explain Verse runs on Apple's on-device models, so even that never reaches a server.
Every translation's licence, source and attribution is listed inside the app under Settings → Translations & Licenses.
