Privacy & deletion choices

1. Who this policy covers

This policy applies to the VI'O Clock iPhone app and the VI'O Clock pages hosted at plugai.in/apps/vioclock. VI'O Clock is an independent app project published under PlugAI. Questions can be sent to admin@plugai.in.

The short version

The app has no advertising or third-party analytics SDK, does not ask for an account, and never requests GPS. Settings and quotas stay on the device. Posts, Room activity, leaderboard entries, votes, and an optional country-level hype count can use Apple's public CloudKit database so they can be seen across devices.

2. Data kept on your device

The app stores or maintains the following on the iPhone so features work between launches:

  • acceptance of the fan-made disclaimer and age/community gate;
  • Street Cred, daily free-tier quota counters, poll-vote history, referral and invite-code state, and the locally assigned paywall presentation variant;
  • blocked-fan names, notification preferences, and whether you chose to contribute your country to Global Pulse;
  • local fallback copies of community posts, polls, leaderboard rows, Rooms, Room memberships, and country hype data when CloudKit is unavailable;
  • the display name used during the current app session. The current build does not create a stable VI'O Clock account.

Deleting the app removes its ordinary on-device app data, subject to iOS behavior and any data Apple keeps separately for purchases or iCloud services.

3. Public community and Room data

When the app is running on a signed device, iCloud is available, and the network permits it, shared features use the public database in Apple's CloudKit container. Content in a public CloudKit database is intended to be visible to other app users.

Community posts and Room messages

A post or reply can include the chosen display name, Street Cred shown at posting time, board, title, body, creation time, upvote count, Room identifier, Room role, parsed mentions, reply relationship, and moderation visibility state.

Rooms and memberships

A Room can include its name, description, founder display name, country label, team tag, topic, language, member and activity counts, last activity time, archive state, and founder-authored guidelines. A Room membership can include Room ID, member display name, role, join time, notification scope, and whether Room guidelines were accepted.

Leaderboard and polls

A leaderboard row can include the chosen display name, score, and streak. Poll records contain the question, options, vote counts, and lockbox state. A poll vote increments a shared option total; it is not stored with an email address or VI'O Clock account because the app has neither.

VI'O Clock does not receive your Apple ID, iCloud email address, or iCloud password. Apple uses your iCloud account behind the scenes to make CloudKit available.

4. Global Pulse country contribution

You can view Global Pulse without opting in. If you choose to contribute, the app reads the country/region code already selected in iOS Language & Region and increments that country's aggregate CloudKit counter. It does not request location permission, access GPS, or transmit precise location.

The country increment is aggregate and is not stored with a VI'O Clock account or device identifier. Because it is not linked back to you, an individual increment generally cannot be isolated later for deletion.

5. Purchases

VI'O VIP purchases and restores are handled by Apple through StoreKit and the App Store. VI'O Clock observes verified entitlement status so paid features can unlock. We do not receive your payment card, billing address, or full purchase credentials. Apple may retain purchase history under its own policies.

6. Notifications

Weekly reminders and countdown milestone notices are scheduled locally on your device after notification permission is granted. Joined Rooms may also register a CloudKit query subscription so Apple can deliver a notice for qualifying new Room activity through Apple's notification infrastructure. VI'O Clock does not operate a separate push-message server and does not receive a list of your device notification tokens.

7. On-device content screening

Public post drafts are checked on the device before submission using deterministic rules and, on supported iPhones, Apple's on-device language model for a narrower harassment judgment. Draft text is not sent to an external moderation API for this screening. Direct safety reports emailed to us are, of course, transmitted through your email provider.

8. Third-party code and services

  • Apple CloudKit and iCloud: shared public content, Rooms, memberships, leaderboards, polls, and country totals.
  • Apple StoreKit and App Store: subscription purchase and entitlement verification.
  • Apple notification services: local notifications and CloudKit-triggered Room notifications.
  • Airbnb Lottie: renders bundled animation files in the app. The app does not use Lottie as an analytics service.

There are no advertising networks, third-party analytics services, or cross-app tracking SDKs in the current build.

9. Retention and deletion

Local settings remain until you change them, reset them where the app provides a control, or delete the app. Public CloudKit content can remain until it is removed through moderation, a valid deletion/takedown request, service maintenance, or the end of the service.

Because there is no VI'O Clock account and display names may change between app sessions, removal requests are handled by locating the specific public content described by the requester. See Data & Deletion Choices for the exact information to send.

10. Website data

This marketing and policy website sets no VI'O Clock cookies, embeds no analytics beacon, and has no web account or form. The hosting server records standard access-log details such as IP address, requested path, timestamp, status code, referrer, and browser user-agent for operations and security. The current server rotates these logs daily and keeps approximately 14 rotated days, after which older rotations are removed. The embedded dotLottie web player is loaded from jsDelivr; requesting that file is subject to jsDelivr's own network logging and privacy practices.

11. Children

VI'O Clock is intended for people age 17 and older and is not directed to children. The onboarding flow asks users to confirm they are at least 17.

12. Security and international processing

Shared app data is handled through Apple services and website traffic is hosted on an Amazon Lightsail server in India. No internet service can guarantee absolute security. Public community content should never include passwords, payment information, precise addresses, or other sensitive personal information.

13. Changes

We will update this policy when app behavior or data practices change. The revision date and policy version at the top identify the current published policy.
